Seismic Acquisition Partner

Working with survey contractor throughout seismic acquisition to deliver the RockWave-standard.

We began our journey into shallow seismic by reprocessing third party datasets and demonstrating to the industry how much more information could be extracted by using optimised seismic processing workflows designed by experienced geophysicists.

Now, we ensure that operators and developers get their data processed right first time. Because our main thing is marine seismic data processing, we don’t do anything else, so we ensure we do this to the best standard in the industry.

Geophysical acquisition contractors are commissioned to image the subsurface to a required depth and resolution, whilst minimising any noise that would impede the interpretation. However, there are too many cases where sub-standard seismic processing is not doing justice to a well-run UHRS survey campaign. The data have been acquired to a high standard, however that quality is not always evidenced in the final seismic image.

RockWave now partners with survey contractors to deliver all high-resolution and ultra-high resolution seismic processing, directly from the vessel. Typically these services include:

  • Liaising with onboard teams throughout acquisition to support their QC.

  • Receiving daily transfers of UHRS data via Starlink satellites so that work can begin on designing an optimal processing sequence.

  • Providing feedback on issues that may be observed in the data.

  • Producing full final processed deliverables that feed into the survey contractor’s interpretation and report.

By pairing the renowned seismic processing experience and reliability of RockWave with your chosen seismic acquisition contractor, you will have much more confidence that the final seismic data will be processed and finished to the highest standard.
